How to Apply
HPCR International's trainings in humanitarian law and policy are tailored to meet the needs of practitioners and policymakers. United Nations staff, diplomats, government officials, and professionals from non-governmental organizations will find the curriculum designed to address the legal and policy challenges encountered in humanitarian operations in situations of armed conflict. Others with substantial interest and relevant experience, including journalists, members of the military and scholars, are also invited to apply. Applications for both core and thematic trainings may be submitted on-line via the application link below. On the application form, applicants will have the opportunity to select a specific training and/or location. Selection of ParticipantsThe Advanced Trainings on Humanitarian Law and Policy are specifically designed for mid-career professionals. It is suggested that applicants have prior exposure to either the practice or the theory of IHL (either through practical experience in humanitarian affairs or some prior legal training). Applicants to core trainings ("Advanced Principles of International Humanitarian Law and Policy") should have 3-5 years of experience in humanitarian affairs, or the equivalent. Enrollment in all core trainings will be limited to 35 participants. Applicants to thematic workshops are expected to demonstrate significant exposure to IHL, either through practical experience, or through completion of the core training or another advanced training in IHL. Notification of AdmissionApplications are received and reviewed on a rolling basis. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early to ensure availability. Admitted applicants will be notified of their status within two weeks of submitting an application. To reserve a space at a specific training or location, accepted applicants must confirm their registration within one week by submitting a €100 non-refundable deposit to HPCR International.
